I was at the Metal Hammer Awards in London last night doing the live sound for Viking Skull, they did a cracking set and went down a storm. MTV 2 were there filming it all, so look out for the T.V broadcast sometime in July.

It never ceases to amaze me how many guitarists dont wind enough string around their tuning pegs, this means that the strings slip very slightly and in a recording situation you are constantly retuning the guitar. DONT BE LAZY! WIND AS MUCH STRING AS YOU CAN AROUND YOUR TUNING PEG & IT WILL NEVER BE A PROBLEM AGAIN!

Finally got a couple of released copies of Fastlanes excellent album, “New Start” from the boys.Great to hear all the hard work sounding so good.

Also got a released copy of “Viking Skull”, which is shooting out the doors of the record stores. I went to see them at Peterborough and was gobsmacked when at the end of their excellent set, Roddy picked up a metal grinder and proceded to demolish his guitar whilst spraying streams of sparks all over the rest of the band. Not sure who is the craziest; Roddy for risking chopping off some fingers, or Daz Waldy and Gordon for soaking up the stream of red hot sparks as though it were water.Get yourself along to one of their gigs; you’ll have a good night!
